We’re exploding with excitement: The Cincinnati Review is a finalist for the CLMP Firecracker Award for general excellence in a magazine! It’s a tough field—other finalists in the category are Creative Nonfiction, Poetry, Raleigh Review, Sinister Wisdom, The Common, The Literary Review, Washington Square Review, Water~Stone Review, and ZYZZYVA.
We were also happy to see CR contributor Nicole Rivas (we featured two of her pieces in our miCRo series) as a finalist in the fiction category for her book A Bright and Pleading Dagger. Read the full list of finalists on the CLMP site here.
Winners will be announced next Wednesday, June 5, at a ceremony at Poets House in New York City.
If you’d like to see the issues we included with our application for the award, both Issue 14.2 and Issue 15.1 are available in our online store— only $5 each for digital copies!
