We’re pleased to mark National Poetry Month and Shakespeare’s birthday by announcing our two nominations for the Best New Poets anthology, “an annual anthology of fifty poems from emerging writers.” Every year, it’s a tough choice, since we have a wide array of emerging writers both in our print journal and in our miCRo series.
Congratulations to:
Patricia Liu, for the poem “What the Guilin Farmer Told Me” (Issue 17.2)
NaBeela Washington, for the poem “Burger King was once home” (miCRo)
Good luck to them and the other nominees! Best New Poets is also accepting open submissions now until May 31.
And we’ve got other anthology news, some of which we’ve shared on social media but not here on the blog:
- Kyle Carrero Lopez’s poem “From an Agnostic” (miCRo) was chosen for Best of the Net.
- Derek Palacio’s story “Eden” (Issue 17.1) was chosen for The Orison Anthology.
Congratulations to Kyle and Derek!
